Marcus Robinson

Marcus served as a youth pastor in Tacoma, Washington for five years. He and his family moved home to Colorado in 1993 and helped plant Parker Christian Center in Parker, Colorado. Marcus served as Associate Pastor there for six years.

Mel Bass
Children's Pastor
Mel, a western Colorado native, graduated from Bethany University in Santa Cruz and invested years in ministry to youth and children in Northern California before returning to Colorado in 1997.  Since then he has been a childrens pastor in Grand Junction and Pueblo, as well as serving the Rocky Mountain Assemblies of God District as the Childrens  Ministries Rep.

He came to us in the summer of 2008.  His life is invested in helping the next generation discover a "life-giving" relationship with the Creator of the Universe, making the Bible come alive, and by challenging kids to "team-up" with the missionaries.

Quote from Mel:  "The people I work with may be behind the scenes, but we are absolutely strategic in the Lord's work!"

In his spare time, he enjoys Colorado's pioneer history; his family's history; cooking tacos (However he is a Taco Bell freak.); and "discovering territory" in the mountains with friends, either by foot or by jeep.

Articles & Resources for Church Workers

  • Starting a Greeter Program
Four years ago I accepted the challenge of evangelism chairperson for our church. One of the first programs the pastor and I developed was the Sunday morning greeter program.
  • Motivating the Right Person into the Right Ministry
One of the greatest challenges for most leaders is selecting and motivating the right people into the right ministry positions in hopes of minimizing turnover and frustration. Even in the smaller church with limited personnel, it is important to coordinate people and ministry as much as possible.
  • “I TRIED, BUT NO ONE EVER CALLED ME”
“I tried, but no one ever called me” are painful words for a leader who has much work to do and not enough people willing to do it. These words are painful for the person who wanted to contribute, but was never called. These are also painful words for a person who is committed to helping people connect and contribute in meaningful ways within the church.
